What do we sell?
We sell genuine American hot tubs and we buy them direct from the
manufacturer (established over 40
years). This saves you the margin normally made by
retailers. We
are a family owned company and have
been in business now for over 19 years. We look after and can still
supply parts for every hot tub we have
ever sold, which is in the
thousands. We have always bought
direct from a long established, high
quality manufacturer and sell
direct at
reasonable prices. We have a
showroom, which you are always more
than welcome to visit and ‘try
before you buy’ or if you just want
to order over the telephone you can
with the confidence that we will
deliver your hot tub and it will be
as good as, if not better
than expected. Rest assured we
will be around to offer
our aftercare service and discounted
chemical and accessories for many
years to come.
The majority of hot tub sales in the
UK can be divided into two
categories: -
Chinese manufactured hot tubs sold on
the internet
You may have already seen some companies
offering cheaper "high spec" Chinese made spas
usually sold at what appear to be very low prices with long lists of extras
"free of charge". These extras may be
TV’s, DVD players, long warranties
and many more “free” items to
disguise their low value. If you are in the
market for one of these hot tubs, please be cautious. You
may be asked for all the money
up front to offer you the discount. Equipment, spa
structure, jets, covers, cabinet and
shells can be of such poor quality
that in some cases they only last
for a matter of weeks before major
failures occur.
As we service many hot tubs, we often
experience this.
Also spares quality and
availability are very poor.
Please also be aware that many Chinese
made imported hot tubs are sold as
“American made”. One company has even
set up a “fronting office” in
Florida to add to their story of
“American manufacture” to mislead
potential buyers. Most Far
Eastern manufactured hot tubs can be
bought for between £200-£800 per
unit. As you can see the mark up
is huge, but most companies
importing/selling them go out of
business within a short while.
Principally due to the poor backup
they receive and/or offer (they
receive little or no support from
the manufacturer) and customers
applying pressure to repair/replace
or refund monies. But when they do
go out of business along with them
go the warranties.
These hot tubs can sometimes be
repaired by converting to industry
standard components, but
these repairs can be very
expensive! There can be no
remanufacturing of the shell as this
is the main part of the hot tub.
If you and your friends want to cut
out the hefty margins made by these UK
internet companies selling chinese products, you can import
your own hot tub from China
directly. Try a company called
Guangzhou J&J Sanitary Ware Co
of Guangdong China where you may
recognise familiar models on UK
internet sites.
American manufactured hot tubs sold
through garden centres and
high profile showrooms
These are
very expensive in the UK. Volume
importation of hot tubs does not add
huge costs to the price of an
individual hot tub. So why are hot
tubs available in the USA priced at
around £2,250 ($4,500) incl. taxes,
but the same model over here is in
excess of £8,500 with similar
specifications?
The real reason there is such a gulf
between USA prices and UK prices is
that USA dealers buy direct from
hot tub manufacturers, where in the
UK a UK registered company (using
the brand name under licence)
imports the tubs from the American
based manufacturer and then
supplies it’s dealers around the
country. This adds transport and
storage costs and at least two
profit margins to every hot tub
sold. Expensive hot tubs don’t
mean better hot tubs. It equates
to higher profits for the dealers
and importers at the customer’s
expense. You can check USA prices
online but please remember direct
imports can also end in misery as
they do have different electrical
supplies.
